If it’s even possible that, by making simple additions and changes to my diet, I might avoid my dad’s “fate,” then I am all in. I am no expert, but the following are some of what I – through research and trial and error – have incorporated into my own health regimen. The following two-part list gives ALZHEIMERSPROOF’s picks for “staples” and “extras.”

Staple supplements:

In my lexicon, “staples” are those must-have supplements that ought to be fixtures in your nutritional plan. Unless you have some sort of food (or other) allergy, I would tell you that these should be taken daily. As always, however, I cannot give actual advice. So, take what I say with a (figurative) grain of salt. And, if you want to be sure, then run everything past a competent medical or nutritional expert.

Fish oil

I say “fish oil” because that is fast becoming a household phrase. However, what we really want are useful omega-3 fatty acids. Truth be told, you could obtain these good fats from fish, flax, and several other sources. Fish oil, and omega-3
